Today's review is about Mirai Nikki. it has 26 episodes and an OVA that gives you a different ending if you didn't like the original ending. The anime has both a dub and sub, and to be honest the dub isn't that bad. I actually watched the anime in dub first.
The anime is about Amano Yukiteru, a loner who's not very good with people. He prefers to write a diary on his cell phone and talk to his imaginary friend, Deus Ex Machina – The God of Time and Space. However, Yuki soon learns that Deus is more than a figment of his imagination when he makes Yuki participate in a battle royale with eleven others. The contestants are given special diaries that can predict the future, each diary possessing unique features that give it both advantages and disadvantages. Within the next 90 days, the contestants must try to survive until there is only one left standing. The winner will become the new God of Time and Space.
I feel like I should note this because some people might not even consider watching it if I don't, but at the beginning Yuki is a little bitch but he gets over it so don't worry.
Plot 5/10
This is a good anime but it has huge plot holes and such that are never explained.
-The anime jumps all over the place. First it starts off with 12 people fighting to become God with future diaries, sure it sounds a bit far fetched but the ending ends up in a completely supernatural fight with people flying through the air and stuff.
-Why doesn't Deus just pick Yuki since he likes him so much? That would save him, and Deus a lot of trouble.
-Deus gets tricked by a human to make the survival game. Yes. The god of time and space was tricked by a human, it was pretty easy too.
-The fact that it had so much potential to become even greater than it already is. Don't get me wrong, I do think this anime is great and I really like it. But it could have been so much greater. When they introduced bringing new people into the game and giving them future diaries that won't kill them when they break, Yuki could have formed a small army with his friends and that would have been so amazing.
-Characters 5/10
The characters are kinda badly written.
-Yuno, a crazy girl who loves Yuki is in love with him for no reason at all.
-Yuki ends up loving the girl who drugged him, kidnapped him, and held him in an abandoned building for a while.
-Yuki also decides to befriend the two girls who tried to kill him and even took him hostage.
-Hinata and Mao decided to stay friends with Yuki after he asked if they could stay friends after what happened.
-Kosaka all of a sudden becomes friends with Yuki after bullying him though out school. Kosaka even lets Yuki and the others use his house to protect Yuki, who again he bulliethough out school.
Soundtrack 5/10
The only thing I that I really liked about the soundtrack was the openings. The rest of it was pretty much average.
Art 6/10
It was kinda good but it had some flaws. Although there were times were it was extremely amazing
Enjoyment 7/10
At first when I watched it I thought it was gonna be average and I was gonna forget it not to long after watching it, but it ended up being of of my favorite anime.
Overall 7/10
