Flip Flappers anime review

Ah. 2016. The year of amazing anime such as Re:Zero and Yuri on Ice and... Wait? There were more anime than two of the most hyped anime last year? That's surprising!

Now I'm not sure if you guys know about this but recently Crunchyroll did a 2016 Anime Rewards this year, and to no body's surprise, Yuri on Ice took home so many awards. And I'm kinda mad, especially because it won Most Heart Warming Scene. I think Erased would have been better suited for that.

Then last year there was the Re:Zero hype that people would not shut up about. Every where you went you could see Rem is best girl and Emilia is shit every where. And I do think it was pretty good and was deserving of it's hype but guess what. Wanna know who won best girl? Yes, you know who won it. To our surprise (Not really, we expected this) REM. REM IS BEST GIRL NOW. Any ways, they had a funny nominee for best girl. Nico from Kiznaiver.

Also, I noticed something about last year. There were no popular Yuri anime. At least none that I could find. BUT, there was a KINDA, just Kinda popular Shoujo Ai anime, Flip Flappers. And to my surprise was in the Crunchyroll 2016 Anime Awards for Best Animation, also wanna know something funny? Guess who won Best Animation. Yes, you guessed correctly, Yuri on Ice. I must admit it did look pretty good but I honestly think Mob Psycho 100 and Flip Flappers looked way better than it. OK, let's get off the Anime Awards subject and FINALLY get into the review.

Flip Flappers is about Cocona, a cautious middle school girl, encounters an eccentric and headstrong girl named Papika. Together, they end up traveling to strange worlds known as Pure Illusion, where they must retrieve mysterious, amorphous fragments said to grant wishes. As Cocona and Papika gather these fragments for the Flip Flap organization, they come up against Cocona's childhood friend Yayaka, who is seeking the fragments for Fip Flap's rival, Asclepius, allegedly bent on world conquest. As both organizations collide, Cocona learns more about the world than she thought possible.

Plot 7/10

-It gets kinda random at the end

-SPOILER ALERT

A secret is revealed that Papika is actually older than Coka Cola... I mean Cocona but still the same age as her. HOW???

-Salt suddenly becomes important AND Salt Ex Machina because plot requires it.

Characters 7/10

I feel like the character developing was only OK, not the best but OK.

-Cocona and Papika pretty much stay the same the only time, the only thing that changes about them is that they start to like each other and Cocona starts to open up to the world a little more... wai, now that I think about it, there's more developing than I thought! And not only does Papika open up she also becomes more confident and stronger as a person through out the series.

-The twins all of a sudden start to become good people.

-The the Amorphous child Nyunyu also just starts randomly helping the good guys.

Soundtrack 7/10

The opening and ending's are pretty good, I suggest you go listen to them. What are you waiting for?! GO! GO LISTEN TO THEM!

Of course after reading this review though!

Animation 6/10

It's OK

Art 9/10

It's amazing!

Enjoyment 8/10

I was watching this when it was still coming out and it just kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for a new episode to come out.

Overall 9/10

I highly recommend watching this. I's not well known but it's defiantly worth a watch. Go check it out! Don't worry about what I said "Go listen to the opening and ending's" You can do that when you start and finish an episode! Welp, now that you're on your way to go watch Flip Flappers I'm gonna wrap this up. See ya!
