Tokyo Ghoul season 1 anime review

Yo maties. I'm currently doing a Zero no Tsukaima series, but it's actually more like me going though all four seasons but I haven't found the time to watch it as I have taken a short break from anime and have been reading manga recently. In fact I'm thinking of adding manga to the things I review on this site because like anime there's a lot of it and there's so many types of manga you can find. And some types will unfortuantly never be made into an anime like my current favorite on-going manga "DEAD Tube". It's pretty interesting although I don't reccomend it for those who are afraid of gore or under the age of 16. Alright, let's get into the review!

Tokyo Ghoul is about Kaneki Ken, Kaneki encounters Rize, a girl who is an avid reader like him, at the café he frequents but little does he realize that his fate will change overnight.

Plot 7/10 The plot is pretty decent but it does have some flaws which I'll be using the manga to point out. I do point out many things but just like in my Guilty Crown review this doesn't meen the anime is bad, it just means I actually took the time to go through each and every episode to see if I can find anythign wrong. I also want to point out that when I review things I try to stick the the animes logic instead of real world logic because what's the point of using real world logic? It's an anime so it doesn't have to follow that and a lot don't so I just go by the animes logic.

-In the first episode Rize and Jason have a fight at the beggining and Rize took Jason's tool. In the second episode Mado starts looking around as if he sensed something was off and instantly found the tool. He legit just instantly thought he'd find something and he thought this for no reason I could see.

-Kaneki and the manager were talking about what Kaneki did to Hide in front of the room where Hide was "sleeping" not worrying about him waking up while they were talking about something that could put them in danger if a human like Hide knew.

-Hinami and her mother were hiding behind curtains when Jason busted in, but why? Couldn't Jason have just smelled where they were?

-Through out this anime it is mentioned that certain foods taste like certain things like "A gym sock after an intense work out" but how do they know what that taste like? (Not counting this, just pointing it out)

-When Tsukiyama is introduced Kaneki is warned about him but no one tells him why he's a bad person. If they had se he turns people into dishes for ghouls then Kaneki wouldn't have been in danger but instead they just left him in the dark and this caused Kaneki to be almost eaten at one of Tsukiyama's shows.

-When Nishiki and his sister were hiding from the CCG Nishiki was screaming "Sis!" and the CCG were right there! And the best par about this is, is that the CCG didn't hear him screaming!

-Hinami ran into Kaneki at just the perfect time. They were able to get back to where Hinami's mother was before she was killed due to this timing and due to this her mother was able to tell her one last thing. If this timing isn't some of the best plot armor so far then I don't know what is.

-In the manga Kaneki and Touka stole some school uniforms and changed up their apperance and went into the CCG to spread false information about where Hinami is, but in the anime the CCG just know where to go where they did in the manga.

-"My instincts told me so" said Mado who's insticts are always right for no reason at all.

-What I said earlier about how Jason should have been able to smell Hinami and her mom when they were hiding is backed up when Hinami could smell her mom from so far away. Althogh she does have better senses than most ghouls but if this little girl can smell some one from so far away than that grown man should be able to smell some one across the room.

-Mada says that Touka lead him to the water way using false stories but this never happened in the anime.

-Mado, a veteran Invetigator should know not to swing his quinque randomly in such a small space but he does it any ways not thinking of it possibly causing his quinque to get stuck while chasing Touka.

-Itori gave information to Kaneki about Rize's death to set something up although in the end it was never used and this infromation was completely wasted in the anime.

-When Tsukiyama was defeated by Touka he ate him self to regenerate. Why doesn't any one else do this??? I'd understand if they couldn't due to a certain situation but if you're about to die and have the chance, why not just eat your self to regenerate??? Kurona and Nashiro could have done this when they were dying, maybe even take a bite out of one then when one is regenerated the other takes a bite out of them.

Characters 8/10 From here on it's me judging the anime by what I like about it so things might not turn out to be to your liking. Any ways, the characters of Tokyo Ghoul range from normal to psychopath. And not only does it have a wide variety of characters they're all interesting and have something about them, even the side characters. Not only that but people you once hated in this show could be your favorite character in the end.

Animation 9/10

It was pretty good but as I have mentioned in previous reviews, when it comes to animation this is the one thing I have trouble spotting. Animation usually all looks the same to me although some shows do stand out for how good or bad they are. This show had pretty decent animation from what I've seen but you seriously can't trust me in this category.

Art 8/10

It was pretty good but at times I felt that the art dipped down a bit but at others it was amazing.

Soundtrack 7/10

To be honest the only thing I liked about this sound track was the opening. The rest was just there and I honestly never even noticed it. Although they do use the soundtrack at just the right time and that gives the shows a bit more feels.

Enjoyment 8/10

I enjoy this show a lot but I have hard times getting through the first 2 episodes.

Over all 9/10
